Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We operate worldwide through a network of experts, researchers, forensic specialists, and lab technicians located in key cities, including Amsterdam, Paris, London, and Washington.

  1. Begin by sending us high-resolution images of your artwork, including the front, back, and signature.
  2. Include the artwork's dimensions and any relevant details about its history, provenance, previous ownership, and exhibition records.
  3. Our team will review this information and provide you with a service quote.
  4. Once the quote is accepted, payment is required to initiate the process.
  5. We will then perform a detailed examination, incorporating both scientific and historical analysis.
  6. Upon completion, you will receive a comprehensive authentication report.

Examinations are usually conducted following the research phase, but we can accommodate early assessments to align with your timeline and unique requirements.

We strongly recommend avoiding the shipment of high-value or delicate artworks unless absolutely necessary. To reduce risks, we provide several alternative options for examination:

  • High-resolution image submissions
  • Live video consultations (e.g., via Zoom)
  • On-site evaluations
  • Local assessments
  • Material Analysis
  • Dating Techniques
  • Advanced Photography
  • Forensic Examinations

The time needed depends on the complexity of the case. Simple evaluations are usually completed within a few days, while more complex or contested pieces may require several weeks to months.

There is no charge for a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). If your artwork is confirmed as genuine, the COA will be included in the final report at no extra cost.

Our initial services, such as answering inquiries or providing a preliminary value estimate, are offered at no charge. More detailed services, however, come with fees starting at $300, depending on the complexity and scope of the work.

Payment is required upfront to ensure the integrity of our process and prevent any potential conflicts of interest.

No, we do not accept payment after the sale. Accepting post-sale payments could compromise the objectivity of our evaluation.
